As we reminisce on last night’s highly entertaining contest between two East Coast lyrical heavyweights, TheMotto No. 55 is still sippin’ a li’l D’usse. This Verzuz was all bars, camaraderie, and comedy, and Jadakiss was the life of the party. He seized the moment! And reminded us that his catalogue is filled with classic collaborations. Plus: I knew about the second one, and was pretty sure about the first one — but how many of y’all knew Kiss wrote Puff’s verses on “Victory” and “It’s All About The Benjamins (Remix)”?
Backed by his DJ Boof, Fab found some footing with classics like “Breathe” and “Into You,” but the night was all about ‘Kiss — and mutual respect. Paired officially for 2017’s Friday on Elm Street (Def Jam), it’s evident that this Freddie and Jason have built a genuine friendship. New York united? You love to see it. Run the celebration back here. Playlist on TIDAL, courtesy of Ev Boogie.
