It’s TheMotto No. 9 time.
We should’ve known when Nayvadius was shouting out his numerous children’s mothers on Mother’s Day and with his latest social media shenanigans that he was up to something. After the recent spark of his Drake collaboration, “Life Is Good,” Future finally makes it official: his eighth studio album drops this Friday May 15. But even more exciting? The reveal of High Off Life’s executive producer.
kno the meaning:
William “DJ Esco” Moore is back in the mix to make sure we receive nothing but the best from Hndrxx.
…and the reunion talk has me reminiscing: In 2015, my friend and Epic Records chairman and CEO Sylvia Rhone backed me and a boss team for a no-holds barred documentary. At the time, Future hadn’t spoken publicly since his separation from Ciara. Not only was Future the hottest MC on the streets with the miraculous mixtape triumvirate of 2014’s Monster, 2015’s Beast Mode and 56 Nights, Future and his management team of Anthony Saleh and Ebonie Ward were cooking up DS2 and Like I Never Left to coincide with the classic album. And this doc is pretty good, too. Word to Taylor Maher.
Some of the strongest moments in the doc (8:47 to 10:58 🔼) are about how Esco and Future’s friendship helped launch Future’s career. Having these brothers back on the same page has me extra optimistic for High Off Life.
